How to Stay Calm in ARC Raiders

A practical solo mindset routine for high-stakes ARC Raiders runs where both machines and players are threats.

Overview

ARC Raiders rewards controlled decisions more than nonstop fighting. Because the surface is shared with machines and other Raiders, panic usually turns one mistake into a full wipe.

Use this reset routine between and during runs.

Pre-Run Reset (30 Seconds)

  1. Set one objective only (quest step, crafting material, or clean extraction).
  2. Choose a “leave now” threshold before you deploy (for example: one high-value item or two quest items).
  3. Accept the risk budget for that run so gear loss does not tilt your next decision.

In-Run Composure Rules

  • If audio gets chaotic, slow down: noise attracts attention and escalates third-party risk.
  • If your objective is complete, rotate to extract: greed causes most avoidable losses.
  • If you are pinched by multiple threats, rotate instead of re-peeking: solo fights get worse the longer they last.
  • If a fight drags, disengage: surviving and extracting beats “winning” one long fight.

Post-Run Review (1 Minute)

  • Ask what single decision most affected the result.
  • Keep one adjustment for the next run; avoid changing your whole playstyle at once.
  • Track consistency by extraction quality, not only kill count.
