Mechascopic's Dispatch

Hey everyone,

I’ve been playing a lot of Arc Raiders lately and just passed 175 hours in the game. My character recently left on an expedition, which means the Rust Belt reset for me and I’m starting over again with basic gear.

Honestly, this might be my favorite part of the game.

The early phase where you’re rebuilding your character, scraping together supplies, and trying to survive with minimal equipment makes every run feel tense and meaningful.

If you’ve just sent your raider off on an expedition and are starting fresh, here are a few things that have helped me re-establish a character quickly.

How to rebuild after an expedition reset

When you return from an expedition and start fresh, the goal isn’t to dominate the Rust Belt right away. It’s about stabilizing your character again so future runs get easier.

Here are the things I focus on first.

1. Focus on survival and steady loot

Your first few runs are about getting out alive, not filling every inventory slot. A small successful extraction is far more valuable than losing everything trying to grab one more crate.

Think of these early runs as supply runs, not high-risk adventures.

2. Prioritize crafting your basic kit

Getting back to a stable kit early makes a huge difference. I usually prioritize materials that help rebuild:

  • basic weapons

  • ammo stock

  • healing items

  • backpack upgrades

Once these are stable, runs become much less stressful.

3. Start with smaller points of interest

Early on, the big hotspots can be risky. I’ve been sticking to smaller locations that still offer useful materials but with fewer surprises.

It’s slower, but much safer.

4. Plan your extraction early

Once your inventory starts filling up, start thinking about how you’re getting out. Waiting too long can mean running into patrols, other players, or worse.

Extraction discipline is what keeps the rebuild going.

Why the expedition reset works so well

What I like about the expedition system is that it keeps the stakes fresh.

Instead of endlessly stacking gear and becoming unstoppable, you cycle back into that survival mindset where:

  • every tool matters

  • every encounter is tense

  • every successful extraction feels like a win

It keeps the Rust Belt exciting even after dozens of runs.

A completely different kind of chaos

When I’m not creeping around Arc patrols, we’ve also been playing a lot of Boomerang Fu as a family.

This game is the total opposite vibe.

Instead of careful stealth and survival, it’s fast, chaotic couch multiplayer where everyone is throwing boomerangs at each other as pieces of food.

Some highlights:

  • teleporting boomerangs

  • explosive boomerangs

  • ridiculous last-second saves

  • rounds that end in absolute chaos

It’s one of those games where everyone ends up laughing and yelling at the same time. Perfect for playing with friends or family.

What I’ve been streaming

Recently on stream I’ve been:

  • rebuilding my Arc Raiders character after expedition reset

  • testing early survival strategies

  • the occasional Boomerang Fu multiplayer chaos session

If you’ve got Arc Raiders tips for early progression, I’d love to hear them.

Thanks for reading, and thanks for hanging out on stream.
